color: #222222;\">Quito, 18 de mayo de 2017.-<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif; color: #222222;\">&nbsp; Por voto de mayor&iacute;a, se modific&oacute; el fallo de 4 a&ntilde;os dictado contra Ra&uacute;l C., exministro del Deporte y se lo sentenci&oacute; a 8 a&ntilde;os de reclusi&oacute;n mayor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #222222;\"><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif; color: #222222;\">Los jueces de la Sala Penal de la Corte Nacional de Justicia (CNJ), desecharon el recurso de apelaci&oacute;n a la sentencia interpuesto por 5 ciudadanos, entre ellos Ra&uacute;l C.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif; color: #222222;\"><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif; color: #222222;\">La resoluci&oacute;n se conoci&oacute; la tarde de este 18 de mayo en la reinstalaci&oacute;n de la audiencia en la que particip&oacute; Tania Moreno Romero, Fiscal General del Estado, subrogante.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #222222;\"><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif; color: #222222;\">El voto de mayor&iacute;a fue de los jueces Luis Enr&iacute;quez y Sylvia S&aacute;nchez, quienes sentenciaron a 8 a&ntilde;os a Ra&uacute;l C., Rafael M. y Mario M. como autores de peculado.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif; color: #222222;\">Mientras que, a Elizabeth C. y Rosa S., se les sentenci&oacute; en calidad de c&oacute;mplices a 4 a&ntilde;os.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #222222;\"><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif; color: #222222;\">El voto de minor&iacute;a fue del juez Richard Villag&oacute;mez, quien consider&oacute; que las 5 personas son autoras del delito y por tanto deben cumplir una pena de 8 a&ntilde;os.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif; color: #222222;\">La sentencia a la que apelaron los 5 ciudadanos fue dictada en abril del 2015&nbsp;por peculado, tipificado en el art. 257 del C&oacute;digo Penal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #222222;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif; color: #222222;\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222; font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif;\">El proceso<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif; color: #222222;\">En la etapa de juicio, la Fiscal&iacute;a demostr&oacute; que se suscribi&oacute; un contrato entre el Ministerio del Deporte y la contratista Rosa S. para la adquisici&oacute;n de implementos para la masificaci&oacute;n deportiva.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #222222;\"><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif; color: #222222;\">Adem&aacute;s, prob&oacute; que hubo un acuerdo doloso entre los sentenciados, lo que produjo un perjuicio al Estado de m&aacute;s de 100.000 d&oacute;lares y un beneficio a favor de determinadas personas.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #222222;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial;\"><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif; color: #222222;\">Otras sentencias:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif; color: #222222;\">En enero de 2016, el exministro del Deporte fue sentenciado a 5 a&ntilde;os por tr&aacute;fico de influencias.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; color: #222222;\">El 5 de abril de 2017, Ra&uacute;l C. fue sentenciado a 4 a&ntilde;os por peculado en la compra de equipos m&eacute;dicos, sin observar la normativa legal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #222222;\"><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif; color: #222222;\">El 27 de abril de 2017, se ratific&oacute; el fallo de 5 a&ntilde;os por peculado contra Ra&uacute;l C. por inobservar los procedimientos contractuales para la adjudicaci&oacute;n de contratos en la construcci&oacute;n&nbsp;de obras deportivas en Morona Santiago e Imbabura.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-right: 20.9pt;
